Bex Fernando is a practicing architect in Ottawa. She co-founded PLOTNONPLOT in 2013 to work in an architectural collective steeped in all forms of discourse and analysis while positively influencing her hometown. She is a strong proponent of traditional drawing techniques as a rudiment to the architect’s craft as well as a tool for communication.

At PLOTNONPLOT she practices architecture at a decidedly intimate scale with constant use of drawing and painting to convey concepts and generate built forms. Bex designs for the individual user, striving to have their involvement and personality reflected in the end product in order to have an immediate and tangible impact on the quality of each person’s experience and the local context.
