2024-2025 Forum Lecture Series
Speaker: Jack Gillmer-Lilley, SJB Architecture, Sydney, Australia
Free and open to the public
Presented by the Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism
Jack Gillmer-Lilley is an architect, an associate at SJB Architecture, and a proud Worimi and Biripi Guri who advocates for Country in an architectural and relational response to promote a sustainable and equitable future for generations ahead.
He is part of a First Nations team selected to represent Australia at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale.
In his role as First Nations Lead at SJB, Gillmer-Lilley facilitates caring, designing, and connecting with First Nations on projects. He develops frameworks and methodologies to establish processes that are respondent to Country, and First Nations community voice, collaboration, and co-design.
The intersection of First Nations knowledge systems and the built environment is of unrealized potential and endless opportunity, which he seeks to unpack through collaboration with the community, First Nations practitioners, and peers. Working with SJB in Gadigal Country provides reciprocal support in both realms and opportunities to give back to communities through meaningful initiatives, he says.
The Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism gratefully acknowledges the support of the Forum Lecture Founding Sponsors:
