Thomas Leung received his Masters of Architecture degree at Dalhousie University in 1996 after completing a B.Sc. in Biology at McGill University. His career has spanned time in Halifax and Ottawa, where he currently practices at the Perkins&Will Ottawa Studio. He has held principal roles in the design and project delivery of diverse building types including healthcare, higher education, residential and transportation. Born and raised in Ottawa, his teaching combines a place-based approach with a profound commitment to imagining possible futures. Since 2011 his role as lead architect for the Ottawa LRT has been supported by a vision of the city’s growth through incremental and quantum change, catalyzed by the implementation of transit infrastructure. He has served on the board of the SAW gallery and was a regular contributor to the OAA Perspectives magazine.
