Marco Frascari Prize
The Marco Frascari Prize in Architecture is awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Director of the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism, to a graduate or post-graduate student that has completed at least one year of their program. Recipients must have demonstrated excellence in the practice of hand-drawing and have developed a critical understanding of the craft and role of hand-drawing in architecture. Endowed in 2013 by Dr. David Azrieli in memory of Marco Frascari, former director of the Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism.
A call for hybrid analog and digital works incorporating hand drawing is sent out annually around January. Graduate or post-graduate students are invited to submit ongoing coursework materials in order to be considered. This award is valued at $4,000-5,000 per student. Value may vary.
Prix de Rome in Architecture for Emerging Practitioners – Canada Council for the Arts (External Prize)
The Prix de Rome in Architecture for Emerging Practitioners is awarded to a recent graduate from a Canadian architectural school who has demonstrated exceptional potential in contemporary architectural design. With this prize, the recipient may visit architectural buildings and carry out an internship at an internationally renowned architectural firm anywhere in the world. The Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism nominates one exceptional graduating Master of Architecture student as candidate to the prestigious Prix de Rome in Architecture for Emerging Practitioners, awarded annually by the Canada Council for the Arts.
By external application. The ASAU will automatically consider all graduating Master of Architecture students (MArch) and can nominate/invite to apply one student each year. This prize is valued at $34,000.

Stantec Architecture Prizes for Excellence in the Comprehensive Studio Project
Prizes awarded annually by the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs, on the recommendation of the Director of the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism in collaboration with the Stantec Architecture Prize Selection Committee, to a graduate student at Carleton University. Recipients will be selected based on excellence in their first year (MArch) Gateway Studio project. The selection will be made by a committee consisting of three faculty members from the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism and two representatives to be determined by Stantec Architecture Ltd. Established in 2007 by Stantec Architecture Ltd. Revised 2009, 2019.
Students participating in the Gateway Studio are automatically considered for this prize. Value may vary.
