Join us as Pappal Suneja, Ph.D. Scholar, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, gives a talk about Bauhaus and postcolonial reflections. Suneja is the Team Leader: Research Project – ‘Bauhaus & Beyond’ and Research Fellow 2023, German Historical Institute London.

This fall, Pappal Suneja is visiting the Canadian Centre for Architecture (Montreal) to curate a Study Room program. This visit is related to presenting the results of his ongoing project – “Bauhaus & Beyond: A Global, postcolonial perspective.”

The project explores the immaterial heritage of the Bauhaus and the multi-transactional postcolonial reflections across the globe. It calls for an exchange and a transfer of research, teaching and dissemination practices amongst members from diverse disciplines and backgrounds (ie. oral history, re-enactment, performance, exhibitions, interviews and photography). In addition, it provides an opportunity to develop an international network of researchers interested in the global history of the Bauhaus, post-colonialism, and the migration and history of ideas.
