Project Description

This project examines the intricacies of establishing a home, its sustenance and revitalization. Specifically, the ant hill, its complex thermal dynamics, symbiotic and parasitic relationships coupled with human interaction. It defines the insignificance of non-human homes to humans and the irony of feeling ownership over natural places and spaces. Packaged as a satirical playing card deck as a nod to the immaturity of it all, the NIMBY Playing Card Deck highlights the incredible endurance and tactility of ants to create such complex resilient homes.
