February 6, 2023

Canadian Architect magazine has published a calligraphic tribute by Adjunct Professor H. Masud Taj to Indian architect Balkrishna Doshi.

The artwork, Life is Intangible, accompanies an online article by Canadian Architect staff titled In Memoriam: Balkrishna Doshi, 1927-2023.

Doshi, a recipient of the Pritzker Prize and the RIBA Royal Gold Medal, died last month at 95.

Taj’s calligraphy has appeared in group and solo shows in Mumbai and Ottawa. Both his books with calligraphic plates: Nari Gandhi: Apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright (2009) and Embassy of Liminal Spaces (2013), are available in the Archives and Special Collections of the MacOdrum Library at Carleton University.
