Project Description
Genome hopes to navigate and foster the intersection of technology with nature. Built inside an old industrial wall Genome juxtaposes the industrial heritage of the Chaudière falls area, with a soft membrane structure, cushioning and protecting the wall from the interior. Mimicking the soft part of a snail, the membrane rises just above the old stone wall, creating only specific punctures and framed view openings. Genome hopes to become the Centre for Biotechnology a place to test, build and create innovative technological solutions, aiming to re-balance harmony between humankind and nature. Pushing one dimensional technology, composed of binary coding made up of 0’s and 1’s, towards the quad-dimensional aspects of nature.
