Project Description
“From Light to Texture” is an essay film that utilizes the moving image to explore the relation between film and architecture. It achieves this by focusing on the fundamental idea of allowing the viewer to experience a place (a room) and an action (a conversation) unfolding within it. At the beginning of the film, the place and the action are presented in ways that push the audience to believe these exist independently to one another. This illusion is possible because the manipulation of the form creates the content. As a result, the film is characterized by the utilization of subjective, abstract and evocative imagery employed in favour of objective sequences.
