Project Description
To match with the story setting, this marionette resembles the look of a baby elephant. In the short story ‘The Elephant’s Journey’ by José Saramago, the elephant understands human’s emotion and can react accordingly. However, its own emotions cannot be understood or even are misunderstood by other human characters. The elephant seems to be a human baby, who has emotions and feelings yet can be hardly understood. By deforming the elephant, this marionette can also stand on its two legs to have a more humanistic form, with the ball joint arms, it also allows the elephant to act in a more humanistic form.
