2020 has been a year of unlearning and discarding old beliefs that no longer serve us. Parallelly, it has been a year of growing, and rebuilding, either on old foundations or entirely new ones. This work was inspired by the Canadian artist Guy Laramée, and his philosophy that knowledge is not simply an accumulation but also an erosion towards the elemental. In investigating our stories and the histories of systems once considered fundamental, we make space for new levels of truth and consciousness, beyond the projected “shadows on the wall”.
