The interdisciplinary talk deals with text as it occurs in books as well as in buildings. The book is Don Quixote; the buildings: a mosque, church, and synagogue. Both, book and buildings, converge in medieval Toledo. Reading the book and the inscriptions on the buildings render both problematic; the context of the novel excavates new meaning from the text while the text on the walls raises new questions about the context.
